Students at the Juicebox Build-Out

November Leaflet

The Leaflet

Throughout the month of September, Lloyd EcoDistrict partnered with eBay Portland to raise funds for Right 2 Dream Too. The donations went to purchasing the rest area 80 new sleeping bags, as well as 11 solar-powered charging batteries. These “JuiceBox” batteries were designed by students at Catlin Gabel. Together with volunteers from eBay and other high school students from Benson Polytechnic High School, we built out these batteries and hand delivered them to the dreamers this past weekend! We also welcomed the Right 2 Dream Too community with a spaghetti dinner! Thanks to members of Livable Lloyd for coordinating this event.
We’re looking ahead at the community’s other needs, which include more tiny homes, shower pods, and a hot box sanitizer. Stay tuned for ways to get involved in these projects. Read the full press release on the campaign here.
Community ask: we need a space that can be used to build additional tiny homes for the rest area. The space needs to be: 900sf, insultated, with access to power and a level floor. If you have the space or know of someone to contact, email
devon@ecolloyd.org

Lloyd EcoDistrict Partners with Audubon Society to host “Skyglow”
On October 17, Cinema 21 was packed for a screening of “Skyglow,” a beautiful time-lapse film about the impact of light pollution on humans, birds, and our night skies. The event was co-hosted by Lloyd EcoDistrict and the Audubon Society of Portland. If you are interested in learning more, take a look at the website.
