2020-21 Lloyd EcoDistrict Bi-Annual Report

Lloyd EcoDistrict is a leading example of what a sustainable, equitable, and resilient neighborhood can look like. While our work continues to grow and evolve with the needs of our community, I’m proud of what we’ve accomplished over the past two years and excited to share some of these successes in our Bi-Annual Report

The past two years have been unlike any other. The challenges of COVID-19 and the growing movement for racial justice have made an indelible mark on our work and our priorities. And as extreme weather becomes more common, our focus on climate protection, equity, and resilience becomes even more vital.

I want to take this opportunity to thank our many and diverse partners over the years. The City of Portland, Prosper Portland, Metro, and other local government interests started our journey in 2009 by convening a group of stakeholders to determine the feasibility of a “Green District” in the Lloyd neighborhood. The Enhanced Services District formally began funding our work in 2014. And my utmost gratitude goes to the numerous staff members, community partners, and volunteers who have devoted countless hours to making our work possible. It is thanks to you that we have accomplished so much over the past 10 years, and with your help, we’ll continue this work for decades to come.

We hope you will read about our work over the past two fiscal years in Bi-Annual Report, and join us on this mission to help shape our work and community for the next decade as develop a new vision and roadmap.

With Gratitude,

Elaine Aye
