EcoDistrict Play Streets Tour: Pet Costume Contest and Yard Games at Broadway & NE 17th
Join us as we transform a block of the EcoDistrict along the Northeast Broadway Business Association (NEBBA) corridor into a Play Street!
On Thursday, August 22 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM, NE 17th between NE Broadway and NE Weidler will be converted into a temporary car-free area filled with opportunities for play (for all ages!). From your favorite yard games to a pet costume contest – we’ll have something for everyone to enjoy! Free to attend!
This event will feature a special Pet Costume Contest and a “green carpet” to get you and your pet photographed.
Thinking of entering your pet in the costume contest? Here’s what to know:
- All pets welcome: Whether you have a dog or a parrot, all pet species are encouraged to join.
- Registration: No prior registration is needed, however, anyone who wants to participate must check in at the event with the Lloyd EcoDistrict table by 5:45 pm the day of.
- Timing: The Pet Costume Contest will start at 6 pm and will go on until all the pets have walked the runway.
- Pageant Info Card: When your pet walks the carpet, our MC will read a pageant info card about them. We will have index cards at the event where you can write down any information you would like our MC to share including but not limited to your pet’s name, their costume, favorite hobbies, or any other fun facts.
- Awards: Our contest winners will be determined by our panel judges and possible awards include the most creative costume, cutest costume, and more!
