First Peace Memorial Park Cleanup of 2022

Despite the winter and cold weather in the month of February so far, we were greeted with warm and beautiful sunshine as we cleaned Peace Memorial Park on February 12th. It had been about 3 months since our last cleanup and we were ready to make the park vibrant. In total, we had 58 volunteers collect about 1,500 pounds of trash and about 150 needles off the ground. The Lloyd EcoDistrict team was excited to join the Oregon Rose chapter of the National Charity League, the East Portland Rotary, and many other volunteers to help us clean the park. This would not have been possible without their help. Check out the photos from the event below.

Special thank you to SOLVE for continuing to be great partners and providing bags, litter grabbers, and other supplies, the Oregon Convention Center for disposing of all the trash we gathered, and a very big thank you to Metro’s Regional Refresh Fund for helping to fund our community-led cleanup efforts in Lloyd.

If you could not make it to this event, don’t worry! We have another cleanup on March 19th. You can find more details and register here. You can check out our Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter to find updated information on future cleanups and other events, and don’t forget to keep up to date with our website calendar as well!
