Join Me on a Personal Journey: Building a Sustainable Future Together

By Kristin Leiber

Hello, friends and readers,

I’m Kristin Leiber, and I am so grateful to have you reading this today. As the Executive Director, I wanted to have a personal conversation with you. You’ve been part of our journey—whether through readership, volunteering, or joining us at our events—and now, I invite you to join us in a new dimension of gratitude, gamification, and year-end giving!

Give!Guide: A Fun Way to Make a Difference

This year, we are excited to be a part of Willamette Week’s Give!Guide for the first time. It’s a fun, exclusive, gamified way to incentivize year-end giving with over 200 nonprofits across Portland, and we’re genuinely grateful for the opportunity it provides. Our heartfelt thanks go to our partners for their vision and unwavering support.

A special shout-out to:

  • Upright Brewing
  • Broadway Grill & Brewery
  • Green Bridge Coffee
  • Keia & Martyn’s Coffee
  • Mike Bennett Studios
  • Way of Being

We will absolutely not create a neighborhood of our dreams alone, and these partners are selfless visionaries who understand the need to work together. For their support, we are so grateful.

Reflecting on Our Journey

As we dive into Give!Guide, it’s also a time for reflection. We’ll celebrate our past work, the milestones we’ve reached, and the community that has made it all possible. We’ll also look ahead at the 2030 Roadmap and the big vision that lies ahead of us.

EcoDistrict certification was a significant achievement, and now, it’s time to show everyone what we can do with it. We invite you to come along with us on this journey, and I promise, we’ll get to know each other better by the end of it.

What to Expect: A Vibrant, Engaging Journey

In the coming weeks, expect weekly newsletters that will keep you updated on our progress, reminders about the amazing Big Give Days and the prizes that come with them, and share stories that inspire. But we’re not just about digital connections. Join us in person for events like Move & Groove Karaoke and Holiday Happy Hours, where you can connect with others in Lloyd who believe in a vibrant, healthy neighborhood.
