IRS grants us our 501c3!
Lloyd EcoDistrict has been approved for 501(c)3 from 501(c)6 nonprofit status. Back in 2011, Lloyd EcoDistrict started as a business association nonprofit much like our primary funder, the Lloyd Enhanced Service District. Over the past 7 years, our mission has evolved to reflect our work which is of a community serving, educational nature. We applied to the IRS to transition our nonprofit status to reflect that enlargement, and to allow us to seek foundation grants, and other sources of funding to help us do our work.
 E-Bike Challenge Update

A total of 35 participants from Lloyd Park Condos, Hassalo on Eighth, Cascadian Court Condos, and Holladay Park Plaza checked out the e-bike that was loaned to them over the six week period known as Lloyd Spark.

Participants from all 4 buildings completed nearly 100 trips altogether. All participants were incredible in demonstrating community, ambition, and the importance of alternative transportation and exercise. We also have compelling findings in terms of public health benefits, the power of community, and elder mobility and the benefits of e-bikes.

We would like to congratulate Holladay Park Plaza for taking the gold, have fun on your e-bike!

Thank you to our Right to Dream Too Volunteers!

Thank you to everyone who made the Right 2 Dream Too Build a huge success. In spite of the heatwave, four sleeping pods were nearly completed in 36 hours at the R2DToo site during the build led by Niko Balster from Turner Construction. A total of 90 community members came together to make this build a wonderful experience. Thank you to all the devoted people who participated, we couldn’t have done it without you!

Stay tuned for two more days of building on July 21st and 22nd. We will finish the four we started and, hopefully, build and complete a fifth one from scratch!

Equity, resilience, and climate protection – these big topics could change Lloyd’s future. Lloyd EcoDistrict has been organizing the community around sustainability goals since 2011.
