Lloyd EcoDistrict Welcomes Joshua Baker as Executive Director
Lloyd EcoDistrict is pleased to announce that Joshua Baker will step into the role of Executive Director following Kristin Leiber’s transition at the end of July.
Joshua has been part of Lloyd EcoDistrict since 2020, most recently serving as Outreach Program Manager. Over the past six years, he has helped lead district-wide resilience, sustainability, placemaking, and community engagement work across the Lloyd neighborhood. His work has included managing a portfolio of more than 15 programs, supporting grant writing and reporting, building partnerships with residents, businesses, public agencies, and community organizations, and helping turn Lloyd EcoDistrict’s Roadmap goals into practical neighborhood projects.
“Following a thorough search and interviews with many highly qualified candidates, the Board selected Joshua Baker as the next Executive Director. Joshua’s longstanding commitment to the organization, deep institutional knowledge, and strong roots in the Lloyd community made him the clear choice. We look forward to his continued leadership in advancing the Lloyd neighborhood as the most sustainable community in North America while leveraging the EcoDistrict framework.”
– Kyle Andersen, Board Chair
As Executive Director, Joshua will focus on organizational stability, partnership stewardship, fundraising, climate resilience, and ensuring Lloyd EcoDistrict’s work remains grounded in the needs of the people who live, work, and gather in the Lloyd neighborhood.
“Working alongside the people who make up this district has been incredibly rewarding over the last six years. Having co-authored our 2030 Roadmap with our residents and partners, and having seen the real-world impact of the initiatives it has sparked so far, I am energized to take on this new position at Lloyd EcoDistrict. Together, we will build upon the work of recent years and turn our community’s vision into tangible, on-the-ground progress.”
