Meet Amy!

Amy Ly (She/Her) recently joined Lloyd EcoDistrict as a Communications and Outreach Specialist to support the team on the different programs and events to help achieve the organization’s goal to become the most sustainable neighborhood in North America.

Amy is currently a graduate student at Portland State University where she is pursuing her master’s degree in Urban and Regional Planning. Prior to her studies in Portland, she was in San Diego, California where she obtained her Bachelor’s in Urban Studies and Planning. Her main focus in Urban Planning is the environment and she aspires to become an environmental planner. She is passionate about climate change and how it disproportionately affects Black, Indigenous, People of Color, and low-income families.

Lloyd EcoDistrict piqued her interest since one of their main goals is to combat environmental injustice. Growing up from an environmentally racist neighborhood herself, she found a passion wanting to fight for equity and justice. She wanted to join the team to share her knowledge and learn sustainable practices and alternatives.

She plays water polo for Portland State University and swims in her free time. Since the pandemic, she has a newfound interest in cooking and trying new recipes. She recently moved to Portland and is open to recommendations to try restaurants and food carts!
