Role Overview:

This part-time position (up to 20 hours per week) is a dynamic blend of junior project management (66%) and communications and outreach (33%). Successful candidates will not only contribute to the execution and management of our key projects but will also drive outreach and engagement through various communication channels.

Key Responsibilities:

Junior Project Management:

  • Support in coordinating projects across our four main areas: Path to Decarbonization, Pollinator Placemaking, Residential Resilience, and Climate Adaptation.
  • Liaise actively with various stakeholders including corporations, small businesses, property owners, developers, residents, nonprofits, among others.
  • Execute projects as outlined by the Executive Director, Project Manager, and/or as mandated by grant guidelines.
  • Oversee all aspects of deliverables: from planning to execution to comprehensive reporting. 
  • Serve as lead organizer while organizing events such as neighborhood volunteer cleanups, educational webinars, in-person trainings.
  • Co-lead all tabling, workshop, and other community-facing programming alongside the Senior Project Manager.

Communications & Outreach:

  • Generate engaging and accessible fliers and content for various platforms utilizing Adobe Express or Canva.
  • Share and manage social media calendars and channels.
  • Collaborate with partners on communication efforts.
  • Write captivating blog posts and newsletter content to keep our community informed and engaged.

Qualifications:

  • You are someone who is well versed or already interested in things like the PCEF Climate Investment Plan, regional climate action plans, environmental justice, community advocacy, and/or the future of the Lloyd neighborhood. You have demonstrated previous involvement in nonprofit work, especially as a volunteer in environmental justice, climate, equity, placemaking, or energy-related endeavors.
  • A degree isn’t necessary, but a powerful sense of self-motivation and determination is crucial.
  • Experience in an office environment or with community outreach is preferred.
  • Demonstrable experience in social media, basic graphic design (using tools like  Adobe Express or Canva, and writing for public audiences is helpful.
  • Experience planning or running to assisting in-person events  
  • The ability to work independently, seek clarity where needed, and ensure timely delivery of tasks.

What We Offer:

  • Competitive hourly rate: $24 per hour.
  • Accrued benefits including sick time, vacation, and paid holidays.
  • Hybrid work schedule: at least 2 days per week in the office. We all work from the office on Wednesdays!
