Meet Burgin

Meet our new Communication and Outreach Specialist, Burgin Utaski (she/her)! She assists with our community outreach, marketing, and in supporting the development of our program areas. While new to this position, Burgin previously worked at Lloyd EcoDistrict as an intern during the summer of 2021. 

She is excited to be back after graduating from Lewis and Clark College this December with her B.A. in Environmental Studies and History. Burgin is fascinated by the history of the built environment, she loves learning about the phases of change and development that occur in urban spaces. She is passionate about intersecting ideas of placemaking, equity, community, and environmental and social resilience, ensuring that all stakeholders are included in conversations. Burgin is also passionate about creating walkable communities and improving public transportation systems.  

Burgin grew up in Seattle, Washington, and has lived in Portland since 2018. Burgin is an avid urban walker, her favorite pastime is to grab headphones, a coffee, and explore a new neighborhood. She also enjoys hosting dinner parties with friends, gardening, and reading.
