We are overwhelmed by the popularity of the Lloyd EcoDistrict Lending Library and wanted to brag about its success to those of you who have yet to try it! Since its inception in January of this year, the Lending Library has become a vital resource for our community. It enables various events and activities by providing essential supplies and equipment that can sometimes be cost-prohibitive.

To date, our Lending Library has completed 281 loans, serving 34 unique customers with a diverse inventory of 171 items. These numbers reflect our commitment to supporting community-driven events and initiatives across the Lloyd District and Portland.

The impact of our Lending Library can be seen in the diversity of organizations that have utilized our resources. The top organizations benefiting from our services are:

  • NAACP
  • Northeast Broadway Business Association (NEBBA)
  • Community Cycling Center
  • All Season Windows
  • Go Lloyd
  • Trash for Peace

These partnerships demonstrate the Lending Library’s role in enhancing the capacity of Lloyd-specific and other local nonprofits and small businesses doing good work in the community.

Our most frequently borrowed items include trash grabbers, folding tables, and reusable linens—essentials for many community events. We are also excited to announce the recent additions to our inventory, which include an inflatable movie screen, a pop-up projector screen, and a misting tent. These items are perfect for outdoor events and have made a difference in events in Holladay Park, at Lloyd Center, and even in some of our apartment courtyards locally!

Our latest tech additions include projectors, a 2KW solar generator, and a PA system with Bluetooth microphones. These items help power events sustainably and ensure that everyone’s voice can be heard, literally!

We are so grateful for the sponsors and financial backers we’ve had so far in Pacific Power and the Northeast Coalition of Neighborhoods. Thank you for your support as we’ve launched this increasingly vital tool!

As we continue to grow and expand the Lending Library, we are committed to ensuring that our resources remain accessible and relevant to our community’s needs. With more items and tools available, we look forward to supporting even more events and helping to build a stronger, more connected community.

Stay tuned for more updates, and if you haven’t already, consider borrowing from our Lending Library for your next event!
