Candidate Speed Events Recap & Your 2024 Election Guide: Don’t Miss Your Chance to Vote!

Lloyd EcoDistrict recently hosted two vibrant events to connect voters with the candidates running for Portland City Council District 2. Both the Candidate Speed Coffee and Candidate Speed Dating events saw high levels of engagement, with voters taking advantage of the opportunity to meet and discuss key issues with many of the candidates on the ballot. The Candidate Speed Dating event, in particular, was a standout, with 18 of the 22 District 2 candidates joining us for a dynamic and well-attended evening of conversations and match-making.

Don’t Forget to Vote in the 2024 Elections!

With the events behind us, it’s time to focus on the upcoming 2024 elections! Our district will be electing three representatives for the Portland City Council, and it’s crucial for everyone to participate in this important process.

This year, Portland voters will use ranked-choice voting, which allows you to rank up to six candidates in order of preference. If you’re interested in understanding how multi-member ranked voting works, we recommend watching this informative video. This voting method ensures that even if your top choice doesn’t win, your vote can still count toward your other preferred candidates, leading to a more representative outcome.
