Recap: PARK(ing) Day & What’s Next for the E-Mobility & Resilience Hub at Holladay Park

We’re excited to share great momentum following PARK(ing) Day 2024! Over 120 people gathered to reimagine how Holladay Park could evolve into a vibrant, resilient community space. Cyclists, Benson High School students, Holladay Park Plaza residents, federal employees, and others stopped by to share their thoughts while enjoying food and drinks from Xocalo PDX and Keia & Martyn’s Coffee. The energy around the event reinforced how active and engaged our community is—especially at the busy intersection of NE Holladay and NE 11th.

At the event, we shared initial renderings from GBD Architects, which introduced the concept of a modular, flexible, and compact hub design. Focusing on the park’s edges, this design maximizes the existing green space while adding critical features like EV charging, solar-powered amenities, and community gathering areas. The community feedback has been positive, and we’re continuing to gather input to shape the hub’s design.

Listening Tour – Get Involved

We’re hitting the road for a Listening Tour throughout November and December, and we’d love to hear from you! Whether you’re part of a local business, apartment complex, or community group, we’ll bring visuals, feedback boards, swag, and even a fun pop-up installation to your space. We aim to gather community input that will influence the final design while building connections across the neighborhood.
