🏛️ Civic Power in Action: Lloyd Hosts D2 Councilmember Town Hall
When it comes to shaping Portland’s future, few things are more powerful than a room full of engaged residents with real questions. On a sunny evening in Lloyd, we gathered more than 80 neighbors, business owners, and advocates to do just that—share, ask, listen, and lead.
Held at the Lloyd Center Tower (with space generously donated by American Assets Trust), our D2 Councilmember Town Hall gave the community a direct line to Portland’s emerging leadership, continuing our long-standing work to build transparency and participation in civic decision-making.

The evening kicked off with a powerful opening presentation by Keith Jones, Executive Director of the Lloyd Enhanced Services District. His remarks reframed the Lloyd neighborhood as a critical site for investment, innovation, and resilience.
From the urban renewal happening in the Lloyd Center footprint to our placemaking, mobility, and public safety efforts, Keith helped Councilmembers and the community alike understand just how much momentum Lloyd has—and how vital it is to keep it going.

As the event opened up to questions, attendees raised key concerns that echoed far beyond our district:
- Looming city budget cuts
- Parks services and maintenance, especially in public spaces like Holladay Park
- The future of small businesses in a rapidly changing economic landscape

- Equity and public trust in development projects
These conversations weren’t just one-night discussions—they’re shaping what gets brought to City Council, advisory committees, and neighborhood coalitions.
