District 2, ABCs of Land Use: An Introduction to Portland Zoning
The Bureau of Planning and Sustainability, in partnership with the Northeast Coalition of Neighborhoods, invites community members to a free learning event as part of the ABCs of Land Use series. Introduction to Portland Zoning takes place on Thursday, January 29, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., and is offered as a hybrid event, with options to attend in person or online.
This session provides a friendly and accessible overview of how land use planning works in Portland, including the basics of the Portland Zoning Code and Zoning Map, and where to find helpful resources. It is designed as an introduction or refresher for anyone curious about zoning, whether you are new to the topic or looking to better understand how planning decisions affect your neighborhood.
Attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions and connect directly with knowledgeable city planners who also serve as District Liaisons for local neighborhoods. Light refreshments will be provided for those attending in person.
The in person event will be held at NECN’s Office at the King Elementary School Annex, located at 4815 NE 7th Ave, Portland. Online attendees are asked to register in advance to receive Zoom meeting details. Registration is optional for in person attendance, though signing up will provide a helpful reminder. To register, head to the event listing on the portland.gov website by clicking “More Information”.
All are welcome to attend and participate.
