Bye-Bye Puddles: How We Cleared the Way on NE Multnomah

On November 18, Lloyd EcoDistrict held our first storm drain-clearing event, Bye-Bye Puddles: Storm Drain Clean-Up Day, with a small but mighty team of staff and volunteers. Together, we tackled clogged drains and bike lanes along NE Multnomah, also known as the Pollinator Bikeway. Armed with rakes, shovels, and determination, we saw the immediate impact of our efforts—puddles vanishing before our eyes, making the streets safer and more accessible for everyone. 

There’s something uniquely satisfying about transforming a waterlogged street corner into a clear, navigable path for those walking, biking, or power wheelchairs, and our team’s energy and enthusiasm made the work enjoyable and rewarding. Events like this remind us how small, focused actions can have a big impact on our community.
