Electrify Your Ride Recap: E-Mobility Comes to Life in Lloyd

Early in May, more than 100 residents, employees, and neighbors gathered at Hassalo Plaza for a hands-on afternoon of test drives, treats, and transportation inspiration. The Electrify Your Ride: EV & E-Bike Ride & Drive event, hosted by Lloyd EcoDistrict, Go Lloyd, Forth, and Hassalo on Eighth, offered a chance to explore how e-mobility can fit into daily life, right here in the Lloyd neighborhood.

Attendees had the opportunity to test drive a variety of electric vehicles (thanks in part to Kia of Portland in Lloyd) and try out e-bikes suited for city commuting. Forth staff were on hand to answer questions, walk folks through options, and share what’s ahead in clean transportation.

One of the day’s highlights was Lloyd EcoDistrict’s new Vending E-Trike, making one of its first public appearances by serving up ice cream on a hot spring day. Free coffee, snacks, and conversations rounded out a fun and informative event that brought together curious first-time EV riders, seasoned bike commuters, and sustainability advocates alike.
