Vote Early: No Kings Rally
Indivisible PDX D3, Portland District 2 Neighbors Indivisible, SEIU, and other community partners will host the Vote Early: No Kings Rally on Saturday, October 17, from 10 a.m. to noon at Convention Center Plaza, 834 NE Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. The event is free and focused on nonpartisan voter participation and encouraging eligible voters to make a plan to vote early.
The rally will feature live music, short speeches, protest art, community tabling, and a honk and wave, with attendees encouraged to bring signs. Participants can also learn more about early voting, election protection, efforts to reduce the influence of big money in politics, and strike readiness in the event that election results are threatened.
No Kings: Vote Early is part of a nationwide effort to turn civic participation into voter participation by helping community members understand their voting options and ensuring eligible voters have the opportunity to make their voices heard.
All No Kings events are committed to nonviolent and lawful action. Participants are expected to de-escalate potential confrontations, and weapons of any kind, including those legally permitted, should not be brought to the event.
