New Round of EV Charging Station Incentives Starting!

ODOT’s Community Charging Rebates Program Round 3 will open on December 17th, 2024.  

The Community Charging Rebates program is part of ODOT’s $100 million commitment to accelerate the deployment of EV charging along major roads and within Oregon communities over the next five years. 

The Community Charging Rebates program Round 3 will provide up to $2.75 million to support the installation of Level 2 charging stations at strategic locations, particularly public parking sites, workplaces, and multi-family housing. Eligible businesses, nonprofits, public entities, Tribes, EV service providers, and owners of multifamily home complexes may apply.

Rounds 1 & 2 funds went very quickly, so if you are interested, this is the time to get ready to apply for Round 3.

Lloyd EcoDistrict and our partners at Conserve Energy want to help you access these funds with our CHAMP initiative, our electric vehicle charging station installation program that supports reducing carbon emissions, meets tenant changing needs, provides excellent ROI, as well as direct social & community benefits. We secured funding for a project in Round 2 and are excited to support more projects this round.

ODOT’s Community Charging Rebate program will support the installation of Level 2 charging stations throughout Oregon at the following types of sites:

  • Multi-family housing sites (must be accessible to all residents)
  • Workplaces (must be accessible to all employees)
  • Publicly accessible parking lots and spaces, including right-of-way parking. Examples of publicly accessible sites ideal for this program include tourist destinations, hotels, public parking, shopping centers, restaurants, grocery stores, gyms, laundromats, movie theaters, etc. The charging station needs to be available to the public a minimum of 60 hours per week and be reasonably expected to be visited by the public.

Public and private entities are eligible applicants, and rebates will cover up to 75% of eligible costs up to a maximum of $3,500- $6,250 per port depending on the type of entity and charger capacity.

The ODOT Community Charging Rebates can be combined with other incentives, such as those provided by your local electric utility company to reduce the upfront cost and increase the ROI.
