Volunteers in Action!

Volunteers in Action!

Hi! I’m Eliot Headley, a new(ish) team member with Lloyd EcoDistrict. I would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the community members who volunteered their time and effort during our most recent community cleanup. On November 28, 2023, we had over 20 volunteers show up to help improve Peace Memorial Park for all. Check out the photo below!

Being my first cleanup with Lloyd EcoDistrict I am continually amazed by the tenacity our community has for resiliency, this was apparent during last month’s cleanup. Coupled with beautiful November weather, the vibes were high while volunteers removed trash, raked leaves, and removed graffiti. Cleanups like this most recent one bring lasting positive impacts to our community spaces such as removing offensive graffiti and making bike lanes safer by removing leaves and litter. As a bike commuter, I value having safe, bikeable pathways. All these efforts we could not do without our volunteers.  Thank you!

I would like to thank Tall Trees Coffee for providing delicious warm beverages to the cleanup volunteers on the chilly, sunny November morning. Tall Trees Coffee’s unique, 100% electric coffee pop-up coffee stand helped bring a welcoming atmosphere while we bagged litter & leaf debris and removed graffiti. Also, I would like to give a shout-out to the Genentech team for their presence, positive energy, and continually bringing volunteers to our cleanups.

Are you interested in attending our next cleanup? If so, we would love to see you there! Our next cleanup will be February 1st, 2024 at Peace Memorial Park from 10 AM to 12 PM. Please register ahead here.

If you’re interested in organizing a volunteer team from your workplace for future cleanups, please feel free to reach out: eliot@ecolloyd.org
